A sad day...

Ok, first lets get the situationals over with....I am home when I should be working, because I had to call in sick due to my stomach....as much as I didnt want to work, I wanted to be laid up with this even less believe me! I have finally eaten (2:40 in the arvo it is mind you) and the meds ive taken have started to wear off so I will have to get some more into me at some point, although I think its still a bit too early yet. I HATE being sick so much, and this kind of thing really hits me for six when it happens....its a stomach disorder that feels like knives stabbing into your stomach...not fun! Not serious but not fun.

Ok, on to the real reason Im writing. Today is a very very sad day for me. Not because Im sick, and not because I had to turn down work. Today is what Americans call "Halloween".

The Celts, who lived 2,000 years ago in the area that is now Ireland, the United Kingdom, and northern France, celebrated their new year on November 1. This day marked the end of summer and the harvest and the beginning of the dark, cold winter, a time of year that was often associated with human death. Celts believed that on the night before the new year, the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead became blurred. On the night of October 31, they celebrated Samhain, when it was believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth. In addition to causing trouble and damaging crops, Celts thought that the presence of the otherworldly spirits made it easier for the Druids, or Celtic priests, to make predictions about the future. For a people entirely dependent on the volatile natural world, these prophecies were an important source of comfort and direction during the long, dark winter.

Contrary to popular belief that this holiday started as some kind of Christian festival (Hallow meaning holy and een standfing for eve) this festival comes from celtic mysticism. Of course, people dont talk about that anymore. People just like to dress up like dark occult figureheads and beg in the streets for candy and do nasty things to people's houses. Most people dont care about the origins of this stuff...and most parents would say "its harmless fun my kids dont know its real what kind of harm could it do??"

My response to that woule be to ask where these parents think this holiday is coming from? What better way to pollute the world than to get at the children...why do you think that harry potter is so popular? Why do you think that there are children books showing them how to cast spells and become a witch in almost every mainstream bookstore on the planet? Children are the most impressionable, the most vulnerable, and ultimately in charge of the future of the planet. What better way to win over the human race for satan than to win over the children??? As adults, our time is alot more limited. We are cynical, we have our own minds. We have been conditioned and jaded and as such we are not so easily swayed. There is NOTHING more
attractive to satan than an innocent mind that cannot discern the difference between the shepherd and wolves! I am saddened and frankly DISGUSTED that cheap chain stores in Australia have started selling halloween materials so that people can actually go out and DO this stuff! Even more so, lets consider for a moment the safety implications!! Children, going around to strangers houses, begging for food? Dont we teach our children to NEVER accept food from strangers?????? even if a parent IS there it doesnt make a difference!

I can so clearly see how evil this day is, and how easily it is for people to use this so called "holiday" to hurt our children. Alittle more obscured, but even more important, I can see how Satan has delighted in God's children dressing up and participating in this evil festival, which has its roots in evil and continues to perpetuate a legacy of subtle satanic influence.

If there is ANYONE reading this who participates in ANY activity on this day....whether it appear dangerous or not, I URGE you to please...research this, find out what you are letting into your lives, into your homes and into your children's minds! The bible says that the battlefield is in the MIND, and that we fight not against flesh but against priciples and powers that seek to harm us here in THIS life. Satan would LOVE to have you divided on this issue, because a house divided cannot stand....YOU CANNOT SERVE TWO MASTERS....Im not saying judge those who do, but I AM saying that if you are a Christian, and you love the Lord, then you are encouraged to dwell on what is good, and holy and righteous...this day is NONE of the above. Instead, please, take a moment today to get down and pray for those who do not know the Lord...those who do not understand the dark forces that are vying for their souls...Pray that the Lord reaches them in a real way this very day, so that not ONE MORE halloween has to come and go with people letting these kinds of influences so easily into their worlds. God wants to free us from this kind of evil, and all we have to do is walk away.
